Wheeeeee!!! what fun! Gerbil coups and mantee zoos; and tuxedo cats and snakes who er, maybe eat rats?

Too bad about the cold weather, though. Sounds like you had a good time anyway. the pix are GREAT! Kitty pix are adorable -- and so is the gerbil. Mary looks very snake-pretty. The MANATEES are beautiful! They look to me like if they were human, they'd be nice people to know. You know?

Wow, it sounds like OUR spring so far! Big snowstorm last night AGAIN!!!

I loved the tour of your bff's animules!!! Great stories of each and lol at the gerbil coup! The kitties are gorgeous. The manatees so fun to watch!

I hope next time you can basketweave so we can see pictures of that, too! :)

Mary had a white mouse-fud waiting..
The gerbil dynasty actually stems from a fud that Mary wouldn't eat... and after a while the fud grew on the humans and they couldn't feed it to Mary anymore... so they got another gerbil to keep it company... and there was much happiness in the gerbil palace.... until this coup happened.

The manatees do look so friendly and calm. I'm sure they'd be nice people. I was mesmerized by the movements they can do with their upper lips... they are SO mobile they can grab food and stuff it in their mouths with just the upper lip.

I learned something new about the manatees yesterday, they are mostly muscle and not blubber ( I just assumed they were because they are so big). I went on a cruise out of Sarasota, Florida looking for dolphins or manatees and only saw one dolphin. At least the weather was beautiful and the cruise was pleasant.
See, we hardly had ANY snow at all this year.. until now. The trees had started blooming already. I just saw on the news the fruit-orchard owners saying they probably lost most of the crop already. But the kids were enjoying the snow.. See that hill behind my garden?... the neighbor kids were going down that on sledges and came crashing through the hedge into my garden... having giggle fits and all..

Oh, I had no idea they were blubber-free. Of course they live in the tropics, so they don't NEED a thick layer of insulation like the arctic marine mammals - but they sure LOOK like they have blubber.
Wow, I never knew that about manatees, either. I never stopped to think that they live in warm areas.

Lol about the fud that the snake wouldn't eat. My daughter's boyfriend's roommate....whew....has a snake who wouldn't eat his whiterat fud and then they got attached to the rat, too and bought it it's own cage and toys and stuff.

Well, I'm sure basket weaving has its finer points. But I'd take your animal adventures any time! Great menagerie!
