Look, the magnolia is flowering

I know I've mentioned this before, but I just love old buildings and I'm afraid this one makes that magnolia tree seem dull compared to it's beauty!

The kitties seem to be adjusting very well and I don't think they're going to let go of you that easy after a year. You're one of a kind :)

The whole street is like that: stucco ceilings and colored glass windows in the stair wells and schtuff...
Except the old hospital building I am in is a bit different style - it looks like a tired old hospital with yellow and red brick stripes... I'll get pictures taken eventually.
We're actually soon moving into an old luxury apartment in a house like this one - just one street over.

I get a *high* from the architecture of most of the old buildings. I'm going downtown (DC) in a couple hours to spend the day with a friend. She thinks I'm crazy because I spend just as much time marveling at the building as I do going inside.

btw.. tired old buildings need love, too!

Oh I absolutely LOVE old buildings! Your office is neat looking too....LOVE that window! Do you know how old the buildings there are?? I think that's neat that you are in an old hospital! But do you ever feel the energy from a place like that? Hospitals have a lot of different energy floating around it....

I'm with Carlissa - that building is spectacular (so is your new home, I can't remember if I had a chance to comment, but I loved the pics!!). Everything in the states is new and it sucks. Nothing is made to last. My office building is the oldest in our park - but it only dates back to the 1970's!! It has no character and it certainly won't be around in another 30-40 years. I need to move to Europe, that's all there is to it.
Ok, the hospital apparently is from 1863.... at least I found some articles from 1963 about it's 100 years celebrations.... So I suspect the buildings across the street are from after that

- it was probably built on the outskirts of town at the time. Copenhagen had two "moat" like defence lines. The hospital is between the two. The botanical garden has a bit of what's left of the first moat in it, and the lakes on the other side of the hospital was the second moat.

So this building was maybe from around the turn of the century... at least the white stripy bottom floor facade thingy was quite fashionable around the turn of the century. The coloured glass I actually thought was a thing of the 20's... but ermn I have no clue... Maybe they put a year on one of the buildings, I'll have a look around... or ask somebody.

I both like and dislike hospitals (hate the smell) but this one is full of students and life and craziness... so you don't really notice it. Besides, I'm in the Dr's living quarters - There shouldn't have been any more suffering there than any other residential house.

I was going to post about how beautiful that building is, but I see it wouldn't be an original thought, so I'll just add that the magnolia tree is very pretty, too! :) Are both kittehs settling in now?

Those are great pictures! I do agree that moving is not fun, but it can be a necessity

I hate moving just about more than anything. I've done a lot of it and it's no fun for sure...and a year will just fly by....

It is a very beautiful campus though....Is it ok to call it a campus ?? The tree is incredible !! The buildings remind me a lot of England..

If you like it, I really hope you get to stay, so you won't have to tire the kitties out with all that packing...I know they're such a big help though.

Your photos are gorgeous and your kitties are big helpers like mine! :) I am sorry that life causes a lot of moving and packing for you. It is annoying, but I am happy for your that you have two fuzzy beings that will make any place a home. That is their magic!

Lovely building, lovely photos, cute kitties. Score!

The kitters must pack down all the boxes so they stack properly. Urraca is the mathematical genius calculator kitty who makes sure it happens as planned. You're very lucky to have them.
